Habit. Annual.
Culms erect or geniculately ascending, 25–30 cm tall, 2–3 -noded. Mid-culm
nodes glabrous. Lateral branches simple. Ligule a fringe of hairs, 0.2 mm long.
Leaf-blades curved, flat or conduplicate, 3.5–6 cm long, 2–4 mm wide.
Leaf-blade surface smooth, glabrous.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle. Panicle 6–8 cm long, 2–3 cm wide.

Spikelets.
Spikelets pedicelled. Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile
florets, comprising 10–16 fertile floret(s), with diminished florets at the
apex, lanceolate, laterally compressed, 6–11.5 mm long.

Glumes. Glumes
similar. Lower glume linear, membranous, keeled, 1-keeled, 1 -nerved. Upper
glume linear, 2.5–3 mm long, membranous, keeled, 1-keeled, 1 -nerved.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 2.5–3 mm long, keeled, 3 -nerved. Palea 2 -nerved. Palea apex entire. Lodicules present. Grain 0.6 mm
long.
