Habit.
Perennial. Culms erect, 32–36 cm tall, 2–3 -noded. Mid-culm nodes glabrous.
Lateral branches simple. Ligule a fringe of hairs, 2 mm long. Leaf-blades
straight or flexuous, flat, 3–9 cm long, 2–2.5 mm wide.
Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle. Panicle ovate, loose, 6–7 cm long, 3–4 cm
wide.
Spikelets.
Spikelets pedicelled. Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile
florets, comprising 3–9 fertile floret(s), with diminished florets at the apex,
ovate, laterally compressed, 1.5–3 mm long.

similar. Lower glume lanceolate, coriaceous, keeled, 1-keeled, 3 -nerved (sub
5). Upper glume lanceolate, 1.6–2 mm long, coriaceous, keeled, 1-keeled, 3
