Habit.
Perennial. Rhizomes present, short. Culms erect, 30–50 cm tall, 2–5 -noded.
Ligule a fringe of hairs, 0.1 mm long. Leaf-blades straight, flat, 3–8 cm long,
3–4 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface smooth, glabrous.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle.

Spikelets.
Spikelets pedicelled. Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile
florets, comprising 5–14 fertile floret(s), with diminished florets at the
apex, lanceolate, laterally compressed, 4–9 mm long.

Glumes. Glumes
similar. Lower glume lanceolate, membranous, keeled, 1-keeled, 1 -nerved. Upper
glume lanceolate, 1.8–2.2 mm long, membranous, keeled, 1-keeled, 1 -nerved.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 2.4–2.6 mm long, keeled, 3 -nerved. Palea 2 -nerved. Palea apex entire. Lodicules
present. Grain 1 mm long.
