Habit.
Perennial. Ligule an eciliate membrane, 1–3 mm long, entire or erose, truncate.
Leaf-blades flat or involute, 12 cm long, 2 mm wide.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle. Panicle 10 cm long.

Spikelets.
Fertile spikelets 1-flowered, comprising 1 fertile floret(s).

Glumes. Upper
glume 1.75–2.75 mm long.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 2–2.5 mm long, 5 -nerved. Lemma apex muticous. Palea absent.
