Habit. Perennial.
Rhizomes absent or present. Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaf-blade surface
glabrous.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence solid, a panicle.

Spikelets.
Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile florets (3–4),
comprising 3–4 fertile floret(s), laterally compressed, 5.5–7 mm long.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 1.6–2.2 mm long. Lemma surface indumented. Lemma apex lobed,
awned. Median (principal) awn 2.5–3.2 mm long overall, with a straight or
slightly twisted column. Grain 1.2–1.5 mm long.

Endemic to Mt Kosciusko, altitude 1700–1800 m, along stream banks and margins
