Habit. Annual.
Culms erect or decumbent, 2.5–30 cm tall. Ligule an eciliate membrane, 0.6–4 mm
long, obtuse or acute. Leaf-blades filiform, convolute, 0.8–5 cm long, 0.3–1 mm
wide.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle. Panicle ovate, 1.5–10 cm long.

Spikelets.
Spikelets pedicelled. Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile
florets (2–5), comprising 2–5 fertile floret(s), with diminished florets at the
apex, elliptic, laterally compressed, 1.9–3 mm long.

Glumes. Glumes
dissimilar, thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume ovate or orbicular,
hyaline, without keels, 0 -nerved. Upper glume oblong, 0.5–1 mm long, hyaline,
keeled, 1-keeled, (0–)1 -nerved.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 1.2–2 mm long, keeled, 3 -nerved. Lemma apex muticous. Anthers 3.
Grain 0.75–1.25 mm long.
