Habit.
Perennial. Culms sprawling, 30 mm diam. Mid-culm internodes pilose. Leaf-sheath
auricles absent. Ligule an eciliate membrane, entire. Leaf-blades lanceolate,
30 cm long, 30 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface glabrous.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle.

Spikelets.
Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile florets (3–4(-12)),
comprising 3–4(–12) fertile floret(s), 5–6(–12) mm long.

Glumes. Lower
glume 9 -nerved. Upper glume 3–4.5 mm long, 9–11 -nerved.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 3–5.5 mm long, keeled. Palea 7 -nerved.
