Notes. A common plant of fine-textured usually
alluvial sometimes calcareous soils in seasonally flooded habitats, such as the
floodplains, levees and banks of watercourses, swamps, lagoons, depressions,
claypans and seepage areas. Flowers and fruits Feb.-Aug. (late-summer to
winter).
