Habit.
Perennial. Stolons present. Culms erect or geniculately ascending, stature
slender to delicate, 15–45(–65) cm tall. Mid-culm internodes pilose. Lateral
branches branched. Leaves mostly basal. Ligule an eciliate membrane or a
fringed membrane, a ciliolate membrane, 0.4 mm long, abaxially hairy, obtuse.
Leaf-blades flat or involute, 3.5–8 cm long, 0.8–1.3 mm wide. Leaf-blade
surface indumented.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle. Panicle 16–30 cm long.

Spikelets.
Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile florets (3–4),
comprising 3–4 fertile floret(s), laterally compressed, 3.6–4.5 mm long.

Glumes. Lower
glume 3 -nerved. Upper glume 1.9–2.2 mm long, 3 -nerved.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 2.3–2.6 mm long, 5 -nerved. Anthers 3.
