slender to delicate, 10–40 cm tall, 3–6 -noded. Mid-culm internodes pruinose.
Mid-culm nodes glabrous. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Ligule a fringed
membrane, a ciliolate membrane, 0.5 mm long. Leaf-blades linear, flat, 2–7 cm
long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface smooth, glabrous.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence digitate, with spicate branches.

Spikelets.
Spikelets sessile. Fertile spikelets 1 or more flowered, with 1 fertile floret,
comprising 1 fertile floret(s) (anthers only), with diminished florets at the
apex, laterally compressed, 2.75 mm long (to).

Glumes. Glumes
similar. Lower glume lanceolate, without keels, 1 -nerved. Upper glume
lanceolate, 2.1–2.3 mm long, keeled, 1-keeled. Upper glume surface smooth.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 2.5–3 mm long. Lemma surface glabrous or indumented. Lemma apex
mucronate, 1 -awned. Median (principal) awn apical, 0.5–2 mm long overall.

Continental
Distribution
: Australasia.

Australian
Distribution
: Queensland.

Queensland: Moreton.

Notes.
The spikelet of Cynochloris xreynoldensis appears closer to Chloris
ventricosa
than to Cynodon dactylon possibly because of
introgression between the two parents, with the characters of Chloris
ventricosa
having greater influence.

Recorded
habitat is shade of Melaleuca bracteata on creek bank, with weeds
encroaching.
